For years, many caregivers and patients have been using cannabis extracts to directly treat cancer and dramatically reduce the side effects of chemotherapy. Despite the steady increase in remarkable success stories, the mainstream media has generally been reluctant to discuss this. Some rare exceptions exist, such as Dr. Sanjay Gupta discussing Landon Riddle, a pediatric leukemia patient, on CNN.
A popular Huffington Post article about Dr. William Courtney’s success treating a pediatric brain cancer patient. Articles in The Washington Post and Boston Globe have also alluded to the anti-cancer potential of cannabis.

A group of medical researchers from St. George’s University of London were commissioned by the federal government for the purpose of definitively proving that cannabis has “no medicinal value”; however, they seem to have proven just the opposite.
The results of the studies stated by the government branch NIDA (National Institute on Drug Abuse) conclusively found that the two most abundant cannabinoids in cannabis, CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), effectively weaken the ferociousness of cancer development resulting in tumor size reduction and in a number of cases, the actually killing of cancer cells. This is not necessarily news, but the fact that the [...]
When 65 year-old psychotherapist Estalyn Walcoff was diagnosed with a type of untreatable lymphoma 5 years ago, she could barely handle the news.
She explains (seen in the video below), that the prognosis only perpetuated her already present anxiety, something she’d faced throughout her life.
But Estalyn was determined to stay positive, repeating positive affirmations such as “even though no one else has made it, it’s possible that I can.“
Another shift came with Estalyn’s new-found desire to look inwards, to discover who she really was. She knew she didn’t want a bitter heart, and she became curious if incorporating a spiritual outlook into her life would help [...]
Rick Simpson is a medical marijuana activist who has been providing people with information about the healing powers of Hemp Oil medications for nearly a decade now. Rick cured himself of a metastatic skin cancer back in 2003, and has since then devoted his life to spreading the truth of hemp oil. He has met an absurd amount of opposition and lack of support from Canadian authorities, as well as pharmaceutical companies, government agencies for health, and UN offices. Despite that fact, Rick Simpson has successfully treated over 5,000 patients (free of charge), and believes that all forms of disease and conditions are treatable. He states that it is common to have all types of [...]
First it was a cough. Then it was bronchitis. Then it was time to say goodbye to Michelle Aldrich.
The year 2011 was supposed to be a good one for the 66-year-old. That June, she and her husband, Michael, were feted with a lifetime achievement award by High Times magazine for their four decades of work on marijuana legalization. Yet something was off. She was smoking a lot, maybe more than ever.
And she [...]
Eduardo Schenberg, of the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, recently published a piece in Sage Journals, detailing his belief that Ayahuasca has cancer-fighting abilities, essentially encouraging the legalization of research in the field.
He says, “There is enough available evidence that Ayahuasca’s active principles, especially DMT and harmine, have positive effects in some cell cultures used to study cancer, and in biochemical processes important in cancer treatment, both in vitro and in vivo,” and “Therefore, the few available reports of people benefiting from Ayahuasca in their cancer treatment experiences should be taken seriously, and the hypothesis presented here, fully [...]
My name is Lindsey, and I live in Cape Town, South Africa. I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer – Sept 2012.
On the 12th August 2011 my life changed forever. I had been to the doctor three times before about experiencing pain in my lower abdomen. He did the usual urine and blood test and announced it was a bladder infection. Weeks of antibiotics later, I was sicker than ever.
That morning I woke with the most excruciating pain I had ever experienced, I could barely walk. Deep inside me, I knew it was something terrible.
My now husband, Brett, took me to another doctor who [...]
Was marijuana the first ever cultivated plant? Did cavemen use this wild growing herb to speed up his language skills? Throughout history, cannabis has been used by healers, religious groups, artists, and agriculturalists to elevate health, mind and spirit. Now science is proving again and again that marijuana has many powerful effects on the human mind and body and should be free for consumption rather than prohibited by corrupt bureaucracies.
Recently, various news sources have taken note of a study by Eduardo E Schenberg, of the Federal University of Sau Paulo, on the possibility of treating cancer with Ayahuasca.
In summary, it is hypothesized that the combined actions of β-carbolines[MAOI] and DMT present in ayahuasca may diminish tumor blood supply, activate apoptotic pathways, diminish cell proliferation, and change the energetic metabolic imbalance of cancer cells, which is known as the Warburg effect (Figure 2). Therefore, ayahuasca may act on cancer hallmarks such as angiogenesis, apoptosis, and cell metabolism. This hypothesis gives some scientific credibility to the cases reported and supports the [...]
A recent study of people with advanced-stage cancer found that a single dose of psilocybin led to lasting improvements in anxiety and depression. Psilocybin might enhance mood by shifting attention away from negative and towards positive emotional information. Mystical experiences occurring under the influence of psilocybin could help ease existential anxiety by changing a person’s attitudes towards death and dying. Although these results are promising, research studies in this area have not used adequate experimental controls and therefore these results should be considered tentative until more rigorous research has been conducted.
A pioneering study in the 1970s found that [...]
